Instagram unveil new look and a focus on images

Instagram, the photo sharing app owned by Facebook, responsible for such cultural highlights as hot-dog legs and The Fat Jewish memes, the Kardashians (zzz) and Justin Bieber (snore), unveil their new refined look.

Instagram have been redefining the app this year with a complete overhaul to improve the user experience, and thus far many of the changes haven’t boded well with their 400 million active users. Their latest change puts more focus on the images rather than colours and textures in the design – a thumbs up from The Social Picture photographers.

I’m sure most of you have noticed already the updated Instagram icon and app design – the camera icon is now a simple design and the rainbow lives on in gradient form. Furthermore the interface focuses on a users photos and videos without changing how you navigate through the app.
