Ben is a London based photographer specialising in commercial and social photography for highly reputable companies and brands.

His creative flair and technical prowess behind the lens has seen him garner a wealth of experience as a photojournalist for photography and video agency Vison7Media – widely recognised as the official photography agency for London’s most exclusive nightclubs.

Ben’s dynamic style has secured him a spot here at The Social Picture. Since beginning his trade with us for the London agency in 2015, Ben has built up an impressive portfolio with a string of commercial projects for the likes of Samsung, Club Wembley, Herbalife and Talk Talk to name a few. With his relaxed and friendly style to his work, Ben’s trademark is exquisitely shot lifestyle imagery that captures people and places at their most natural.

Ben combines his passion for photography with a desire for culture and travel, his studio is often the world outside his door and his camera and a willingness to look for new perspectives is the only equipment he needs.

Can you describe that “moment” (experience, emotion,) when you knew that photography was something you just had to do?

The experience I would mention is the first time I took a photograph. It was in London of a landscape and I was amazed at the ability a camera has to freeze a moment in time and save it as a medium is something surreal as such for me, and was instantly something I became memorised with, and what better city to take photographs in than London!

How would you best describe your style of photography?

I shoot to tell a story. Therefore my style would be of a journalistic point of view. Every little detail has to be included that’s why composition and lighting are very important to me.

Does your approach change depending on what you are working on?

Yes of course, depending on the job I’m always thinking in advance how I can adapt my style.

Is there something you always ask/think to yourself just before you push the button?

I always check on exposure, lighting and composition before I press the shutter.

What is your post-production workflow like?

Post-Production is fast and precise, every image must be checked and double checked after edited to ensure the best quality possible.

What is your dream project?

My dream project would be in a street event in Akihabara in Japan. This place is known as the electric town as there are screens everywhere and it would be amazing to capture the vibe of the place preferably at night.

What was the best career advice you were ever given?

To capture the moment before it vanishes…I took this as advice from a quote by Henri Cartier-Bresson ‘Photographers deal in things which are continually vanishing and when they have vanished there is no contrivance on earth which can make them come back again.’

Is there a single photograph that you are most proud of?

A photograph that I took of steel wool on fire. I creates these fantastic light trails and is one of my favourite photos I have ever taken.

What inspires you to create new work?

New events going on all over the country. I love events….from pre to post production.
